It seems that many bike shops run their own group rides and do so very successfully. Since group rides are something we are interested in providing but to date haven't really succeeding in doing, would it make sense for us to offer to "sponsor" a group mountain bike ride for any interested bike shop up to once a week.
Details: bike shop posts the ride as "VMB sponsored mountain bike ride" and we provide the shop with a stack of cards to hand out to people and a snack for the ride (could be as little as a single energy bar). It probably would make sense to simply rubber band the card to the snack. As a bonus for larger rides (say more than 5 guest riders) we could offer a water bottle or other VMB labeled item to be raffled off (name in a hat style) to one of the riders at the end of the ride.
