VMB Meeting Minutes 2/29/2016
Andrew followed his outline already posted on the VMB site.
Treasurer report-to be posted. Jason was not available for this meeting.
Money is still being held for Pocono club. Future is still pending.
IMBA updates-Andrew reports that Performance is only are IMBA bike shop. We want to encourage other shops to join IMBA. There are report that other area shop are pledging to support IMBA.
-maybe VMB memberships could accompany a mtb purchase.
-place VMB/ IMBA membership flyers at shops. We have an old brochure now.
PA School Mtb program-starts in April. Season is in the Fall.
Meetup has been suggested to use as a ride scheduler. Eric Rigler to investigate.
Trex Report—Lou M w/ additional comments by Andrew
Autumn olive removal/ grasslands restoration-continuing w/hiccups. Contractor was fire and a replacement search is on. Looking for a September 2016 completion date.
-working on a replacement for the Killdozer trail—maybe build something better?
-IMBA Trail Solutions is an option for a long term solution. Our IMBA rep thinks w/ can get grants to start trail replacement.
-working to keep other trails open as much as possible during this process. There is a “promise” to the trail corridor first. Early April.
NOX
Mostly closed now due to muddy conditions.
Jay talked about upcoming corridor clearing.
They feel the trail closures have helped reduce damage.
Events at Nox. Same as last year. Dates to be announced.
SALS
Jerry H talked about water damage from the recent severe storms.
Trail work is scheduled Saturday March 5 9AM.
Enduro 2016 at Sals
We would like to switch it up and include more downhill. Maybe 6 sections.
Bear Creek will have a MASS series again.
They have a $20 trail pass to ride for the year.
We need new flyers/signage for kiosks at all trail systems. Several people proposed ideas. Stay tuned.
Souderton trail opportunity. Land open for possible trail system and pumptrack. Suggested a crew local to that area take charge. VMB can help where possible and feasible.
