A Word from el Presidente elect

I met with outgoing club President Mr. Venturini and our VP Lou Mazzante for a download of VMB tribal wisdom in advance of my term. I was very impressed with their depth of understanding and engagement on the many important issues and opportunities concerning our mountain biking community. I was most impressed by the strong alliances they have developed with key individuals and organizations in support of VMB interests. In our best interest Mike V. will retain a leadership role in the club at his leisure with a narrower scope but no less importance.

Communication, Membership, Trail Systems, Events, Camaraderie and Community Outreach (Whoop Whoop Thank you Karen), each of these 6 facets of VMB support and strengthen the other. We discussed the importance of improved communication both internally and out to the larger community. We talked about strengthening our membership, the value of our new alliance with the International Mountain Biking Association and the importance of working with allied organizations and businesses alike. We will work to build upon the past successes of the club with new tools and resources at our disposal.

A word about Trexler (my personal obsession), I was blown away by our VP’s high level behind the scenes alliance building and coordinated planning for a wider more balanced project. I feel perfectly comfortable taking a back seat to the project yet involved in a more low profile manner. Be sure Lou has got this one, the project is in good hands. I now have a much more optimistic view of the future of Trexler. I do think this also points to a need for improved communication so we are working more effectively in unison. I believe it will be our job to better connect problems and opportunities with hard working smart people and resources. Your job is to make us (Leadership) look good.

I am honored to work with such a powerful group of people.

The club is well positioned for the future, I think 2016 is a promising year.
