I am about to pull the trigger on a light. I must do it quick while it is still impulsive, because I probably shouldn't be doing it. But as of right now I have it in my head that it's a great idea that will let me spend more time with my family. Or something.
I noticed that lights seem to be either "really cheap Chinese stuff" or "expensive", there seems to be no in between?
I was thinking that the Lupine Piko might fit the bill- plus mounting an inexpensive light on my handlebars.
The Piko is like on the max end of the budget. I see that there is a dealer in Lancaster, are there any closer dealers?
Alternately, I could get two Magicshine 900's, one for handlebar, one for head, but will they last for a few years (reliably?)
I see there are a ton of brands to choose from, based on what I've been reading on MTBR, but the information there is too overwhelming. I don't need cutting edge stuff, just don't want to buy a piece of crap. I have no idea what lumens or lux or whatnot that I need.
Any other brands I should strongly consider that people here can personally recommend?
Also, any VMB friendly dealers in the LV that have quality lights that I can check out in person (and keep money in our local economy)?
