Coil Fork vs. Air Fork

Late last October I bought a new Marzocchi 44 TST2 Air 130mm/150mm fork for my Heckler. I only got to ride it once or twice in November before I hung the bike up for ski season. Now that I have had a few more rides this Spring on the new fork I am noticing some things I love about it and some things that...well....I need to adjust to that my old coil Manitou Minute didn't do.

For instance:
I love the lightweight of the air fork and how smooth it feels when compressed. However, I'm not diggin the spongy feel and how much of the travel I go through on some impacts. I find that I have to keep my weight a little further back in the rough stuff to keep from compressing it so far that I nearly go over the bars. My fear is that some day I'll be too far back and lose front traction and end up all thorny and broken.

I am considering changing the travel to 150mm to avoid that "diving" on harder impacts, but I know that is going affect the geometry and probably cause the front to drift more on climbs (and I already suck on climbs). Plus, I'm already running more air in the shock than recommended - not much, only about 5 lbs or so more.

Is this normal to feel these differences going from coil to air?

Should I switch to 150mm?
